Technology Integration 101 – Guide / Inquiry / Discovery Method Of Teaching …
This is a questioning and conversational teaching strategy where the learners are required to discover the rules and generalities of subject matter. Learners discover the generalities of the subject while engaging in discussions and exploration of several practice examples. Feedback (on discovery of correct generalities and instances) and elaboration (help, prerequisites, and context setting to aid the learner in discovery) are provided to learners during their inquiry activities. Feedback and elaboration may include pointing our pictorial relationships, application of the rules, presentation of context through historical information, and prompting elicitation of prerequisite information.
How can the technology-based support . . . Guide/ Inquiry/ Discovery Method of Teaching?
– Students can search for site elements and organized sites that define rules or concepts of a subject area, including pictures, graphics, text elaboration, simulations, and video clips.
– Students can find site elements that are supporting examples of rules generated.
– Network elements can be used to extend questioning strategies to experts outside the classroom.
