Technology Integration 101 – Here is how to use the WELES reflection tool ..

 

  1. Once you have a plan in mind think about which resources you have and which you do not, and those you do not, you can specifically search for on the Internet or in subject matter related texts and software you may have available at your school. School librarians can be very helpful in this effort!

Once you have done this a few times, you may no longer need to write down your lessons or activities using the planner, rather, hopefully, you will develop a reflecting strategy that aids your planning. Try not to do too much with technology at first… keep it simple and easy to implement. When students are using the computers, you do what comes natural… observe and support… prompt the students to tell you what they are doing and why… ask them to rationalize the work they are doing as it relates to the assignment… this help you make sure they understand and are focused on the learning task and helps your students develop their own reflective learning processes…
